[ You can hear fabric rustling, and the sound is muffled, like someone left their 'Gear on inside their pocket. ] Calm down, Talim. Okay.

There must be some mistake-- Excuse me! Someone? This woman is not my mother. I must-- Oh! [ There's a thud, and the 'Gear goes clattering to the ground. The video kicks on at a rather odd angle, showing... someone's foot, a bag, a pokéball, and, well, the ground. ] I'm terribly sorry.

[ The foot knocks into the pokéball, causing it to open. Talim gives a squeak of surprise, and falls flat on her butt, narrowly missing the already fallen 'Gear. ]

I don't think she pretends. I think she really thinks that she's everyone's mom! [Serah chuckles a bit.] She's.. a little crazy. But she means well, I think?

I'll go ahead and tell you where you are, or at least what I know. This is a different world called Johto, and everyone here is from different worlds. Those things are called pokemon! Everyone has one, see? [Serah shifts the gear to her Teddiursa, and he wiggles his ears a little and runs behind her leg.] Chasse! .. Sorry, he's a little shy, hehe. Pokemon are like animals except they have special powers. Some can shoot water from their mouths, others can make electricity, some have psychic powers!

How strange. Does everyone start out at her house?

Thank you! I've heard bits and pieces, but it's nice to get it all at once. [ her Scyther pokes his head over her shoulder, fixing the camera with a level gaze ] I've already discovered my partner, though.

Everyone I've spoken with has. So I'd say at least most of them do, but I dunno if they all do.

Yes. This world doesn't make sense at all, but.. Well, to be frank, we're stuck here. So I guess we need to get used to it. It's not all that bad, though! It's actually.. kinda peaceful.

I suppose I can just think of it as the next stage of my travels.

Ah, well. He can be kind of intimidating upon first glance.
